what are the time spans of the geologic time called? periods, eras, eons

what are unconformities? a layer between rocks that represents missing time; either deposition stopped or the rocks were eroded; this is shown by a black wavy line.
uniformitarianism and key bed uniformitarianism- the processes occuring today have been occuring since the Earth formed- James Hutton key bed- whena a layer is formed by an instantaneous or short- lived event; a time marker.
how are radioactive isotopes found in rocks used to find their absolute age?
what do dendrochronologists study? the science of comparing annual growth rings in trees to date events in the past.
what is the half life of carbon 14 and what material does it date?
what is the age of earth? how was the number arrived at? 4 billion years.
what are the major sources of heat for the earths interior?
distinguish between original preservation and altered hard parts. origninal- both hard and soft parts very uncommon to remain or exist. altered- organic material is gone. hard parts have been changed.
