Ocean Water Composition and phenomenons

What is the Coriolis effect? the motion of objects in relation to the earth's rotation
What 4 main chemicals are in Ocean water? Nitrogen, Argon, Carbon Dioxide, and oxgen
What is the definition of a spring tide? A tide that has very high tides and very low tides (occurs every two weeks)
What are the steps of the coral reef (in order)? Fringe reef, Barrier reef and Atoll
What is a semi-diurnal tide? A tide that occurs during Neap tides where 2 high tides and two low tides occur each day.
What is a neap tide? A tide that has reguar low tides and regular high tides. (1st and 3rd quarter moons)
What is the Thermocline? The middle layer of ocean water that varys greatly in temperature?
What is geostrophic flow? A current in which the coriolis force and pressure gradient are in balance.
What is El Nino? El Nino is a global warming phenomenon near Mexico where the wtaer tempurature goes from Cold to Hot
What is La Nina? When Warm water substatutes for cold water.
