Solar Eclipse when the sun is obscured by the moon
Neap Tide a less than average tide, happens when the moon is in its first and last quarters
Spring Tide a tide during a full or new moon
New Moon the phase of the moon when it is closest to the sun and you cannot see it from earth
Full Moon the phase of the moon where you can see the entire half of the moon from earth
First Quarter Phase of the moon 7 days after new moon where you can see the right half of the moon
Third/Last Quarter phase of the moon where you can see the left half of the moon
Waxing when the part of the moon that you can see is getting bigger
Waning when the part of the moon that you can see is getting smaller
Waxing Crescent phase of the moon that happens 3 and a half days after new moon where you can only see a sliver on the right side
Waxing Gibbous the phase of the moon where you can see all but one sliver of the left side
Waning Crescent the phase of the moon that happens 3 and a half days before a new moon where you can only see a small sliver of the left side of the moon
Waning Gibbous the phase of the moon where you can see all but a small sliver on the right
Wave a long body of water that breaks on the shore
Tide rising and falling of the oceans, caused by the moonLU
Umbra The fully shaded part of the shadow of the earth or moon
Penumbra the partially shaded outer part of a shadow casted by the earth or moon
Total Eclipse An eclipse where all of the moon or sun cannot be seen
Partial Eclipse An eclipse where only part of the sun or moon cannot be seen
