What is excretion? The removal from the body of waste products made in the body
What the organs of excretion? Lungs,kidneys and the skin
What do the lungs excrete? Carbon dioxide and water vapour
What do the kidneys excrete? Water,salts and urea
What does the skin excrete? Water and salts
What is the function of the urinary system? To make and excrete urine
What are the parts of the urinary system? Renal arteries, kidneys, renal veins,ureters,bladder and urethra
What is the function of the renal arteries? Carry blood to the kidneys, the blood in the renal arteries contains excess water salts and urea
What is the function of the kidneys? Remove excess water,salts and urea from the blood. These compounds combined form urine
What is the function of the renal veins? Take the blood(with waste material) from the kidneys and carry it to the heart
What is the function of the ureters? Tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder
What is the function of the bladder? Stores urine until it is ready to be released
What is the function of the urethra? The tube that takes the urine from the bladder and passes it out of the body
