cell cycle and mitosis
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Interphase | cell grows to full size and a copy of DNA is made |
| Mitosis | DNA splits so copy can be given to the new cells |
| Cytokinesis | cell splits creating two new cells |
| Prophase | DNA transforms to rod like structures called chromosomes |
| Metaphase | chromosomes line up in center of cell and spindles of fiber attach to each chromosome |
| Anaphase | chromosomes are pulled apart into two chromatids and spindle fibers pull chromatids to opposite ends of cell |
| Telophase | nucleus surrounds chromatids that lose their rod like shape |
