TermsMeaning
decubitus ulcers Tissue breakdown resulting from pressure or reduced blood flow (often called pressure sores or bed sores
closed bed bed made with bedspread in place
open bed bed made with top sheet folded so as to give patient easy entrance
occupied bed one with a patient in it
posttoperative bed bed made with top sheet folded lengthwise and positioned to one side, allowing transfer of the patient from surgical stretcher to the bed without unnecessary movement
draw sheet small sheet made of plastic,rubber,or cotton placed across the middle of the bed to cover and protect the bottom sheet and assist in moving the patient
fanfold mrthod of arrraging bed lines so thatthe covers and bedspread are folded at the foot of the bed out of the way
