TermMeaning
Circulatory System The heart, blood vessels,blood,and all organs that pump and carry blood and other fluids throughout the body.
Heart A four-chambered, hollow, muscular organ that lies in hte chest cavity and pumps the blood through the lungs and into all parts of the body.
Circulation The continuous movement of blood through the heart and blood vessels to all parts of the body.
Plasma The liquid portion of the blood.
Anemia A shortage of red blood cells.
Pulmonary Pertaining to the lungs.
Artery Blood vessel that carries oxygenated blood away from the heart.
Vein Blood vessel that carries blood from parts of the body back to the heart.
Cardiac Pertaining to the heart.
Blood Pressure The force of the blood pushing against the walls of the blood vessels.
Respiratory System The group of body organs that carries the body function of respiration; the system brings oxygen into the body and eliminates carbon dioxide.
Tuberculosis highly infectious disease that usually affects the lungs.
