| Patient plan of care | a written plan stating the nursing diagnosis, the patient goals or expected outcomes, and the nursing orders, interventions, or actions to be taken |

| implementing | carrying out or accomplishing a given plan |
| evaluating | determining whether a plan has been effective |
| Transfer | Moving a hospital patient from one room, unit, or facility to another |
| discharge | The official procedure for helping patients to leave the health care institution, including how to care for themselves at home |
| Convalescence | The period of recovery after illness or surgery |
| Holistic | An approach that reflects the four dimensions of a "whole" person: physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spritual |
