Beaker Holds liquids
Triple Beam Balance Measures the mass of an object
Apron Protects clothes
Microscope Magnifies microscopic objects
Ruler Measures the length of objects
Atom Smallest particle in which an element can be divided & still maintain properties of that element
Nucleus Center of an atom that is made of protons and neutrons
Proton Positively charged particles located in the nucleus of the atom
Neutron Have no electric charge
Electron Negatively charged particles found outside of an atom
Speed Distance traveled by an object in a given amount of time
Velocity Objects speed & direction at a given distance
Acceleration Change in an objects speed or direction over time
Force Push or pull
Balanced force Occurs when the total of forces on an object equals 0 and the objects motion does not change
Unbalanced force When the net force of an object does not equal 0 and the object moves
Direction Where an object is going
Newton's 1st Law An object will keep doing whatever it is doing unless the forces acting on it become unbalanced
Newton's 3rd Law All forces act in pairs
Newton's 2nd Law The smaller the mass of an object the greater its accelertation when a certain force is applied to the object.
