What is the function of the nucleus? to control cell activities
What is the function of the cell membrane? to control what substances enter and leave the cell
What is the function of the ribosomes? to make proteins
What is the function of the mitochondria? to make energy for the cell
What is the function of the goli body? to sort and transport proteins
What is the function of the cytoplasm? clear jelly inside the cell that contains all other organelles
What is the function of the nucleolus? to make ribosomes
What is the function of the vacuole? to store food, water, and waste
What is the function of the cytoskeleton? to maintain cell shape

What is the function of the chloroplast? captures sunlight to produce glucose

Define active transport. transport that requires energy to move from low concentration to high concentration
Define passive transport. transport that does not require energy to move from high concentration to low concentration
Define osmosis. movement of water from high concentration to low concentration
Define facilitated diffusion. movement of particles from high to low concentration using a transport protein
Define photosynthesis. use of sunlight energy to make food (glucose)
What is the photosynthesis equation? Carbon dioxide + water+ light energy yields glucose + oxygen
Define cellular respiration? the prcess that breaks down glucose in order to make energy.
What is the respiration equation? Glucose + oxygen yields carbon dioxide + water + ATP
What are the 2 types of cellular respiration? 1- Aerobic 2- Anaerobic
Define aerobic respiration? respiration that requires oxygen
Define anaerobic respiration? respiration that requires no oxygen
