Does a liquid take up the same shape as it's container? Yes all liquids take up the shape of there containers.
What does the term definite mean? The shape and volume of the obeject won't change.
What are 2 clues that show how the particles are arranged in a shape? The shape and the volume.
How are the particles in a solid arranged? Yhey are packed tightley together.
Does a gas take up the shapeof it's container? It takes up the shape and volume of its container.
How are the atoms in a gas arranged? They are not arranged in a regular pattern.
What are the 5 states of matter? solid, liquid, gas, plasma, bose einstein.
What is an example of kinetic energy? A pitcher throwing a baseball.
According to the Kinetic theory of matter are particles inside a solid moving? Yes the particles inside a solid are moving if the object is moving.
Do all the paricles move at the same speed? Yes all the particles are moving.
Why can scientists ignore the forces of attraction between particles? The force of attraction is to weak.
What are the 3 main points of kinetic theory applied to gases? Particles in a gas are in constant random motion. The motion of one particle is only affected when 2 particles collide. Forces of attraction between gases can be ignored.
What is it called one a substance changes from one state to the other? It is called a phase change.
What are the 6 common phase changes? melting, freezing, vaporization, condensation, sublimation, and deposition.
Can energy be absorbed or released during a phase change? It can be both.
