Complication Disease process that occurs during the course of (or because of) another disease
Disease Occurs when an individuals health parameters fall out of normal range
Etiology Cause or reason for a disease

Natural History The 'natural" course of a disease unless it is modified by some intervention
Pathogenesis The development or evolution of a disease
Resolution Host returns to completely normal state without sequelae or complications
Sequelae The outcome of a disease
Symptoms Subjective feelings of patient that something is wrong
Signs When manifestations of a disease can be objectively defined by an observer
