What are the basic components of soil ? Weathered Rock & decomposed remains.
What are the the two types class for sedimentary rocks ? Non-clastic & clastic
What do clastic rocks form ? Fragments of weathered rock.
Where do non-clastic rocks form from ? Remains of plant & animals or dissolved minerals.
What are the three materials that makes sediments ? dissolved minerals, plants & animals' remains, and weathered or eroded rock.
Name three clastic rocks. Shale, Sandstone, and Breccia.
Name three non clastic rocks. Flint, Coal, and Salt
What are sediments ? Sediments are loose materials.
What are sedimentary rocks ? Sediments that precipitate out of solution.
What is compaction ? When erosion moves to a new location, where they are deposited.
What is cementation Precipitating to form a crystalline material.
What are detrial sedimentary rocks Rocks made from broken fragments of other rocks.
What is conglomerate ? Rounded rock.
What is breccia ? Not rounded rock, with sharp angles.
What are chemical sedimentary rocks ? Precipitated minerals from left behind solutions.
What are organic sedimentary rocks ? Rocks formed from the remains of living things.
What is coquina ? A major sedimentary rock.
What is chalk ? A form of limestone rock.
