| Lithosphere | A shell formed from earth's solid upper mantle and crust |
| Magma | melted rock below the earth's surface |
| Mantle | Thickest layer of earth's structure |
| Plate Tectonics | A theory that earth's plates are slowly moving across its surface |
| Seismic Waves | Waves of energy sent through earth's crust when earth's plates move suddenly |
