Microbiology? The study of small living things
Viruses? Smallest micro-organisms. Increase by invading other cells, this is why they are called paasites
Examples of viruses? Chicken pox, measles, mumps
Bacteria? Larger than viruses. In order to grow, food, suitable temperature and suitable pH is needed. Produce asexually and double their numbers every 20mins
Examples of bacteria? Pneumonia, sore throats, food poisning
Fungi? Plants that dont contain chlorophyll. Different fungi are parasites on plants, animals and humans
Biotechnology? The use of living things or parts of living this to produce useful products
