What occurs in prophase of mitosis? 1. Chromosomes condense 2. Chromosomes appear as sister chromatids 3. Nuclear envelope, Golgi, and ER break down 4. Spindle aparatus appears
What occurs in prometaphase of mitosis? Kinetochore microtubules connected and chromosomes begin to move toward middle
What occurs in metaphase? All chromatids in middle
What occurs in anaphase? Centromeres degrade, chromatids pulled to oposite ends, spindle poles move apart elongating cells
What occurs in telephse? Chromosomes have reached opposite poles, nuclear envelope,golgi, and ER reform, and spindle aparatus begins to disassemble
What is cancer? loss of control of the cell cycle
What is the G1 checkpoint for? Check for external need if no need goes into G0 phase
