What is a pure substance? It is matter that always has exactly the same composition.
What is an element? An element is a substance that cannot be broken down into simpler substances.
What is a compund? A compound is a substance that is made from two or more simpler subtances and can be broken down into this esimpler substances.
Why does every sample of a given substance have the same properties? Every sample of a given substance has the same properties because a fixed unformed composition.
Explain Solutions,suspensions,and colloids. Give exampes of each.
Explain why the composition of an element is fixed. An element has a fixed composition because it contains only one type of atom.
Why can the properties of a mixture vary?
