Plate Tectonics

Vocabulary WordDefinition Of Vocabulary Word
Divergent Boundary The place where two plates move apart, or diverge.
Transform Boundary Is a place where two plates slip past each other, moving in opposite directions.
Rift Valley A deep valley, forms along the divergent boundary.
Faults Are breaks in Earth's crust, where rocks have slipped past each other.
Plate Tectonics Is a geological theory that states that pieces of Earth's lithoshere are in constant, slow motio driven by convection currents in the mantle.
Convergent Boundary The place where tw plates come together or converge.
