Bradykinesia Extremely slow movement
Osteochondritis Inflammation of bone and cartilage.
Contraction Shortening or tightening of a muscle.
Intradermal Within or between the layers of the skin.
Proximal Toward the trunk of the body; nearest to the point of origin of the body part.
Arthralgia Joint pain.
Dermatitis Inflammation of the skin; caused by contact with an irritant.
Abduction Movement away from the midline of the body.
Pyoderma A pus containing skin infection caused by bacteria.
Seborrhea Excessive discharge of sebum (the oil produced by sebaceous glands)
Medial Toward the midline of the body (pertaining to the middle).
Pronation Moving the palm face down or toward the back; palms down.
Midsagittal Dividing the body into equal halves
Paronychia Inflammation of the fold of skin surrounding the fingernails.
Xeroderma Excessive or abnormal dryness and roughness of the skin
Tenosynovitis Inflammation of the tendon sheath.
Myalgia Muscle pain
Furuncle An inflamed hair follicle; a boil.
Fissure Crack-like sore or groove in the skin.
Erythema Redness of the skin such as blushing or a mild sunburn.
Cellulitis Acute infection of the skin and subacuteneous tissue characterized by heat, redness, pain & swelling.
Gluteus Maximus Buttock muscle; moves the thigh.
Trapezius Triangular shaped muscle that extends across the back of the shoulder and back of the neck; connects the clavicle and scapula/moves the shoulder.
Supination Moving the palms face up toward the front; palms up.
Plantar Flexion Moving the foot in a downward position away from the leg; pointing the toes downward.
Sesamoid Bones Small, irregular, round nodular bone in a tendon or joint.
Pectoralis Major Chest muscle, large fan-shaped muscle that crosses the upper part of the chest, moves the arms; commonly called pecs.
Triceps Located on the posterior surface of the humerous; movements include bending and extending the arms.
