Stereoscopic Microscopes -They use light to magnify objects - Ours magnify up to 50x -You use two eyes to see, so you see in three dimensions(3D) -The object can be thick; light does not need to pass through it

Transmission Electron Microscopes -They use electrons to magnify -Magnifies up to 1,000,000x -Only makes 2D images -Object must be thin
Scanning Electron Microscopes -They use electrons to magnify -Magnifies up to about 200,000x -Makes 3D images -Object can be thick
