Sedimentary rock | Forms when pieces of older rocks, plants and other loose material get pressed or cemented together. |

intrusive igneous rock | igneous rock that is formed from magma cooling within the earth's crust. |
extrusive igneous rock | igneous rock that is formed from lava cooling on Earth's surface. |
metamorphism | The process by which rock is changed by heat and/or pressure. |
recrystallization | The process by which heat and pressure break the chemical bonds in minerals and then the atoms rejoin in a different way forming a new substance. |
