CLAUDICATION pain in leg during walking, due to inadequate blood supply or venous drainage. Pain subsides with rest
CLUBBING Occurs with congenital heart disease and chronic pulmonary disease when the ends of the fingers or toes become swollen
COLLATERAL Alternate vascular route formed when original becomes obstructed or reduced
CONGENITAL DEFECT Malformation of the heart or one of its major blood vessels present at birth
CORONARY The circulatory system of the heart; a nerve or blood vessel that encircles the heart
CORONARY ARTERIES Two arteries arising from the aorta that supply the heart muscle with blood
CYANOSIS A bluish-gray discoloration of the skin resulting from a deficiency of oxygen and an excess of carbon dioxide in the blood
DEFIBRILLATOR Delivers electrical impulses to the heart causing temporary cessation of cardiac activity, allow time for the SA(Sino Atrial)node to take over
CYANO- WORD ROOT THAT MEANS: A BLUE COLOR
