| Cleavage | When a mineral breaks along a flat or even surface (often breaks in a pattern |
| Streak | The powder that is left behind when a mineral is scratched |
| Luster | The reflection of light off of a mineral surface |
| Inorganic | Is not alive, never has been alive. |
| Crystalline | A solid whose atoms, ions, or molecules are arranged in a definite pattern |
| Nonmetallic | does not contain metallic materials |
| Mineral | Naturally formed inorganic solid with a crystal structure. |
