Fracture When a mineral breaks along an uneven or curved surface
Hardness The resistance to being scratched
Metallic contains metallic materials (often is shiny)
Cleavage When a mineral breaks along a flat or even surface (often breaks in a pattern
Streak The powder that is left behind when a mineral is scratched
Luster The reflection of light off of a mineral surface
Inorganic Is not alive, never has been alive.
Crystalline A solid whose atoms, ions, or molecules are arranged in a definite pattern
Nonmetallic does not contain metallic materials
Mineral Naturally formed inorganic solid with a crystal structure.
