Which receptor causes dermatitis, rhinitis, conjunctivitis? H1 receptors
What happens if H1 receptors in the skin and mucous membrane are activated? cause vasodilation,increases vascular permeability, and leads to erythema (heat and redness), congestion, edema and inflammation.
What are H2 receptors involved in? increase gastric acid secretion, and cause allergic reactions
What happens if H2 receptors in the heart are activated? increases the heart rate and contractility
what happens if H3 receptors are activated? inhibit the release of histamine and other neurotransmitters
antihistamines histamine receptor antagonists, H1, H2 receptor antagonists
Which generation of H1 receptor antagonist is preffered in treating allergies? why? The second generation is preffered because it causes little or no sedation.
