chlorophyll a green substance in plant cells that helps plants make food by trapping the sun's energy.
epidermis the outermost protective layer of a leaf.
respiration the using and releasing of energy en a cell.
root hair one of the threadlike cells on a root that take in water and minerals from the soil.
photosynthesis a process in plants that uses energy from sunlight to make food from water and carbon dioxide.
stomata pores in the bottom of leaves that open and close to let in air or give of water vapor.
transpiration a plants release of excess water vapor through stomata on the underside of it's leaves.
