Organelles Function

organelles in an animal cell

QuestionAnswer
Cell membrane? controls the movement of things in and out of the cell
Cytoplasm? to hold the organelles in place
Golgi Bodies? assembles, releases, and stores the chemicals
DNA? instructions to make the cell's protein
Nucleus? it is the brain of the cell; it controls the cells activities
Vacuole? stores water, ntrients and/or waste
smooth and rough ER? makes lipids (fats)and breaks down chemicals that damage a cell. then it ships it to places in a cell
Mitochondria? 1st-it burns sugar to release energy 2nd- the energy is transferred to a special substance called ATP. 3rd- the cell uses ATP to do work
Lysosome? it helps break down acid in the cell so the cell can keep making more cells
Ribosome? it makes proteins for the cell
