### Scientific Methods

What does collecct mean? To gather data during a scientific investigation.
What does data mean? Infomation tht has been gathered to answer question or solve a problem.
What does measure mean? To find the size, distance, time, volume, area, mass, weight, or tempature of an object or event.
What does mass mean? The amount of matter making up an object.
What does tempature mean? A measure of how hot or cold something is.
What does record mean? To write down data collected.
What does observation mean? What we learn about an object or event through the use of one or more senses.
What does predict mean? To state possible resultsof an event or anexperiment.
what does results mean? What is caused, the outcome of a scientific method.
What is a millimeter? A metri unit of measure of length and distance;equalto one-tenth of a centimeter.
What is a centimeter? A metric unit of meaure of length and distance; equal to one-hundreth of a meter
What is a meter? A metric unit of measure of length and distance
What is a kilometer? A metric unit of mesure; equal to 1,000 meters
What is a millileter? A metric measure of voiume; equal to one-thousanth of a liter
What is a liter? A metric unit of volume; equal to 1,000 milliliters
What is a gram? A metric unit of the mass of small objects
What is a kilogram? A metric of unit of mass; equal to 1,000 grams
What is a hypothesis? A statement that can be tested to answer a question
What is a variable? Things in an experiment that can be changed of controlled
What is a responding variable? The variable you are testing. It is the variable you do not have control over.
What is a manipulated variable? The variable that you can change in an experiment.
What is a conclusion? The results of an experiment which should clearly support or not support the hypothesis.
