| Evaporation | when a liquid changes into a vapor or gas |
| Condensation | the process of gas turning into a liquid |
| Transpiration | the process by which plants give off moisture into the atmosphere |
| Precipitation | the falling of weather from the sky in the form of rain, sleet, hail, or snow |
| Vapor | a gas formed from something that is usually a liquid or solid at normal temperatures. Clouds are made of condensed vapor |
| Cumulus | huge clouds with very high flatten tops and low dark bases (meaning "heap") the large clouds that sometimes look like huge puffs of cotton |
| Cirrus | (meaning "curl") clouds are very high, wispy clouds made of ice |
| Stratus | (meaning "stretched out") clouds are made up of low layers of clouds that usually cover the whole sky and blot out the sun |
| Air Pressure | the force with which air pushes down on the earth |
| Atmosphere | a layer of gases surrounding a planet |
| Forecast | a prediction of weather |
| Meteorologist | a scientist who studies and predicts the weather |
