ecosystem consists of all the organisms living in a particular area , as well as the nonliving, the physical components of the environment which the organisms interact (such as air, soil, water, & sunlight)
community the entire array of organisms inhabiting a particular ecosystem
population consists of all the individuals of a species living in a specific area
organ system consists of 7 organs that work together in performing a specific functions (such as circulatory, digestive and nervous systems)
organs a structure consisting of several tissues adapted s a group to perform specific functions (ex. Brain, spine)
tissue an integrated group of cells with a common function and structure
cell the basic unit of living matter separated from its environment by a plasma membrane; the fundamental structure unit of life
organelle membrane bound structure that performs a specific function
molecule a cluster of atoms held together by chemical bonds (DNA)
producers provide the food for a typical ecosystem (ex. plants and other photosynthetic organisms) [water+carbon dioxide = oxygen & sugar
consumers eat plants & other animals to release energy [oxygen+sugar = water & carbon dioxide
