Scientific Method Study Guide

Observation The action or process of observing something or someone carefully or in order to gain information
Qualitative Observation Observation is either an activity of a living being, such as a human, consisting of receiving knowledge of the outside world through the senses
Quantitative Observation Observation is either an activity of a living being, such as a human, consisting of receiving knowledge of the outside world through numbers or measurments
Infrence Educated Guess
Science systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation
Variables capable of being varied or changed; alterable
Independant Variables The variable that is changed
Dependant Variables The result of the Independant Variable
Hypothesis a mere assumption or guess
