Terms | Definitions |

Resolution | the act of resolving or determining upon an action or course of action |
Characterization | the creation and convincing representation of fictitious characters |
Inference | The act of reasoning from factual knowledge or evidence. |
Motivation | something that motivates; inducement; incentive. |
Theme | a subject of discourse, discussion, meditation, or composition; topic |
Setting | to place in some relation to something or someone |
Author | a person who writes a novel, poem, essay, etc.; the composer of a literary work, as distinguished from a compiler, translator, editor, or copyist. |
Purpose | an intended or desired result; end; aim; goal. |
Point of View | an opinion, attitude, or judgment |
Style | a particular kind, sort, or type, as with reference to form, appearance, or character |
Syllables | A unit of spoken language consisting of a single uninterrupted sound formed by a vowel, diphthong, or syllabic consonant alone, or by any of these sounds preceded, followed, or surrounded by one or more consonants. |
Prefix | Grammar. an affix placed before a base or another prefix, as un- in unkind, un- and re- in unrewarding |
Suffix | Grammar. an affix that follows the element to which it is added, as -ly in kindly. |
