What are 3 ways to find out more about a rock? Scratch it on a tile, rub it against another rock, scratch it with your finger nail.
A mock rock is like a real rock because... they both are a mixture of materials
To compare the hardness of 2 diff. materials you can... rub them together. the 1 with a scratch is softer.If you scratch it with a tool such as a paperclip if the mineral is softer it will get a scratch.
how can you tell if a rock has calcite? putt it in vinegar. If the vinegar bubbles it has calcite.
