IEP's 5 main components

QuestionAnswer
The 5 main components of an IEP are: conditions, performance, criteria, assessment and standards
IEP Component - Condition used to present info of when, where, or how the area of disability or needed skill will be addressed. (ex. - during the reading lesson, on the bus, at the end of 12 weeks, etc)
IEP Component - Performance specific observable skill that the student is expected to accomplish. (ex. increase reading skills from 1.5 to 2.0 grade, communicate choices without prompts, using gestures, signs or words.
IEP Component - Critera how well must the skill be done and how often to acquire mastery. (ex. 4 out of 5 trials, with 80% accuracy, on a weekly basis, etc)
IEP Component - Assessment how the skill mastery will be measured. (ex.-according to criterion referenced test, by teacher/parent observation, by behavior charting & staff reporting. etc)
IEP Component - Standards the reference to the state academic standards. (ex- Langauge 3.2.9, MO 6.1 and 6.4, Sci 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. etc)
