independent variable | The variable that we as testers control. This CAUSES the change to occur. |
Dependent variable | The variable that changes as a result of the test. We CANNOT control this variable. |
Control | Used as a comparison in an experiment. This is a standard to judge any changes we see. |
Constant | Anything that remains the same in an experiment for the test subjects and the control. |
