Question | Answer |
Scientific Method | A process used to solve scientific problems. |
Observations | Using your senses to obtain information or describe your surroundings. |
Hypothesis | A statement that predicts the outcome of an experiment; an explanation for observations. |
Experiment | A procedure used to test a hypothesis. |
Independent (or manipulated) Variable | The one factor or condition that is changed during an experiment by the scientist. |
Dependent (or responing) Variable | The change that is caused or the observable differences during an experiment. |
Experimental Group | The group on which the experiment is conducted. |
Control Group | The group used for comparison and is not tested. |
Theory | A well-tested explanation for a broad set of observations. |
Scientific Law | A statement that summarizes the results of many observations and experiments. |
