Synovial joint | freely moveable joint containing a fluid-filled cavity between the bones |

Condyloid joint | oval shaped process of one bone fits into the elliptical cavity of another - movement in two planes - flexion/extension and abduction/adduction - ex. wrist or atlas/occiput |
Saddle joint | both surfaces are saddle-shaped - movement in two planes - ex. thumb joint |
