Question | Answer |
Monocytes | Large white blood cells who live in blood vessels. They migrate into the connective tissue where they become macrophages and move to kill invading enemies. |
Immune Response | The bodies defense against infectious organisms and other invaders. Attacks organisms and substances that invade our system and cause disease. |
Red Blood Cell | Carries oxygen from lungs to body, moves oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs. |
Neutrophil | Function is to eliminate invading bacteria. They are fast moving immune cells and are the front line soldiers of the immune system. |
Neutrophil | When alerted they rush to the site of the battle in huge numbers , where they each kill several bacteria before dying themselves, from exertion. |
T/B Cells | The commando units of the immune system, they can defeat invaders that leave macrophages and neutrophils confused and helpless. But each is programmed to go after only a very specific type of invasion. |
