Question | Answer |
Mitochondria | Mitochondria converts energy in food molecules to energy that the cell can use to function properly. |
Cell Membrane | The cell membrane is a wall within the cell wall that controls what substances travel in and out of the cell. |
Nucleus | The nucleus acts as the brain of a cell and it directs all of the cells activities. |
Cytoplasm | The cytoplasm is the area between the cell membrane and the nucleus. The cytoplasm is a gel like fluid and is constantly moving. |
Cell Wall | The cell wall is a rigid layer of non-living material that surrounds the cell of plants and some other organisms. |
Endoplasmic Reticulum | The endoplasmic reticulum is a maze of passageways that carry proteins from one part of the cell to the other. |
Ribosomes | Ribosomes act as factories to produce proitiens and they are attached to the endoplasmic reticulum. |
Golgi Body | The Golgi body recive protiens from the endoplasmic reticulum, package them, and distribute them throughout the cell. |
Lysosomes | Lysosomes are small, round structures containing chemicals that break down certain materials in the cell. |
Chloroplasts | Cloroplasts capture energy from sunlight and use it to produce food for the cell. The cloroplasts are located in the cytoplasm of plant cells. |
Vacuoles | Vacuoles are the storage place of the cell, and they are located in the cytoplasm. |
