Question | Answer |
Cell Wall | A rigid layer of nonliving materials that surrounds the cells of plants and some other organelles. The purpose is to help protect and support the cell. |
Cell Membrane | Forms the outside boundary that separates the cell from its enviroment. The cell membrane controls what substances come into and out of the cell. |
Nucleus | The cell's control center, directing all of the cell's activities. |
Cytoplasm | The region between the cell membrane and the nucleus. |
Mitochandria | The "powerhouse" of the cell because they convert energy in food molecules to the cell. |
Endoplasmic Reticulum | The endoplasmic reticulum passageways carry protein and other materials from one part of the cell to the other. |
Ribosomes | Attached to some surfaces of the endoplasmic reticulum. To produce proteins. |
Golgi Body | Receive proteins and other newly formed materials from the endoplasmic reticulum, packages them, and distributes them to other parts of the cells. |
Chloroplasts | To capture sunlight and use it to produce food for the cell. |
Vacuoles | The storage areas of the cells. |
