independent variable | a factor that is changed on purpose by the scientist that affects the result of an experiment |
dependent variable | depends or responds to the independent variable.it affects the result of an experiment and is measured to see if the I.V. has affected the results |
mass | the amount of matter something is made of.it is not affected by gravity. measured in grams (g) |
weight | measure of the gravitational force exerted on an object. measured in Newtons (N) using a spring balance |
