The comfort measures after episiotomy are? | Ice packs,tightning of buttox before sitting,peribottles,cool or warm sitz baths. Also include topical agents such as witch hazel and Nupercainal ointment. |
The side effects of topical agents for episiotomy are? | Burning,stinging,tenderness,edema,rash,tissue irritation,sloughing,tissue necrosis,pruritus,irritation,dryness,and folliculitis. |
Why do you become constipated after delivery? | Residual effects of progesterone on smooth muscle decreases peristalsis, and decrease liquid intake during labor. Decrease in activity and relaxation of abdominal muscles also amplifies the problem. |
Nonpharmalogic treatments for constipation is? | High fiber foods,early ambulation, drinking 64oz of fluid a day, and responding to the urge to deficate. |
