| spring | seeping groundwater which may flow to the surface or into lakes and river bottoms |
| wetland | land or areas that are flooded all or part of the year, provide habitat for wildlife, help control flooding |
| runoff | water that runs off the land into other bodies of water |
| water vapor | the gas form of water which is invisible in the air |
| drinking water | water that is free fo chemicals, sediment, and microscopic organisms and is safe to drink |
| irrigation water | supplying the land with water (usually for watering crops that do not receive enough precipitation) |
| glacier | huge mass of slowly moving ice formed on land by the compacting of crystallized snow, formed in areas where snowfall exceeds melting |
