Adenocarcinoma | Refers to cancer of glandular tissue- broad term used to describe cancer in areas such as esophagus, endometrium, cervix, lung, pancreas, prostate, stomach, sm. intes. |
Transitional cell carcinoma | cells lining passages of urinary tract. (include urethra and bladder) |
Sarcomas | arise from connective tissue. Highly invasive and mets. rapidly; bulky with abundant blood supply- growth can exceed bld supply |
Why are sacomas difficult to remove and treat. | Growth of sarcomas can exceed bld supply and cause ulceration and hemorrhage- common is the uterus. |
