apperant magnitude | the brightness of a star as seen from earth |
absolute magnitude | the brightness of a star as is it were a standar distance from the earth |
hertz sprung-russel diagram | a graph relating to the temperature and the brightness of a star |
main sequence | the area of the h.s.r.d. that runs from upper left to lower right and includes more than 90% of all stars |
