alternative energy | refers to any source of usable energy intended to replace fuel sources without the undesired consequences of replaced fuels. |
recycle | to create new materials form used products. |
fossil fuels | several types of naturally occuring fuel formed from the remains of plants and animals that died thousands or millions of years ago. |
greenhouse effect | is the rise in temperature that the Earth experiences because certain gases in the atmosphere trap energy from the sun. |
renewable energy | comes from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat. |
non-renewable energy | is a natural resource which cannot be produced, grown, generated, or used on a scale which can sustain its consumption rate. They are consumed much faster such as coal, petroleum and natural gas. |
hydroelectric | pertaining to the generation and distribution of electricity derived from energy of falling water or any other hydraulic source. |
crystal | a solid material made up of molecules that arranged in repeating patterns. |
