Vocabulary | Definitions |
photosynthesis | is the process in plants through which light, energy, water, and carbon dioxide are converted to food and oxygen. |
nutrients | are substances in food that provide energy and material for growth. |
minerals | are types of nutrients fornd in nature that are NOT plants or animals. They are formed by natural processes. |
pollination | the transfer of pollen from stamen (male) to the stigma (female). |
cloroplast | an organelle in a plant cell that turns energy from the sun into chemical energy for the food to use. |
stomata | pores on the surface of a plant that allows gases to move into and out of the plant. |
