| Term | Definition |
| x-axis | The horizontal axis that shows the independent variable |
| y-axis | The vertical axis that shows the dependent variable |
| line graph | a visual representation of data where points are connected by lines, showing how something changes over time |
| speed graph | a graph with distance or position on on the y axis and time on the x-axis |
| speed | the change in distance over a specific amount of time |
| constant speed | the speed of an object remains the same. It does not increase or decrease |
| independent variable | A variable that stands alone and is not changed by other variables |
| dependent variable | The thing being measured or observed in an experiment, and its value is expected to change or be affected by the independent variable |
| velocity | speed in a given direction |
