| Abiotic | The non living factors in an ecosystem eg) sunlight, water, temperature |
| Population | The number of organisms of a species eg) population of squirrels |
| Biodiversity | How many different types of organisms in an area |
| Natural Ecosystems | Ecosystem that was already there and looks after itself |
| Artificial Ecosystem | Is made or looked after by humans (parks, farms) |
| Aquatic | An ecosystem in water |
| Terrestrial | An ecosystem on land |
| Producer | An organism that uses photosynthesis to make food |
| Consumer | An organism that eats other things |
| Herbivore | An animal that only eats plants |
| Carnnivore | An animal that feeds on other animals |
| Omnivore | An animal that eats plants and other animals |
| Scavenger | An animal that eats garbage or dead things |
| Decomposer | An organism that breaks down things that can then be used as nutrients for the soil |
| Trophic Level | Which level in the food chain is the thing at. Producers are the 1st trophic level Primary consumers are the 2nd trophic level |
| Top Carnivore | The carnivore at the top of the food chain. |
