gravity | the force that gives objects weight |
tide | the periodic rise and fall of the oceans |
sattelite | a small object orbiting a larger one |
telescope | an object used to see stars better |
geocentric | Means earth in the center |
heliocentric | considered as being seen from the center of the sun. |
inner planet | any of the four planets closest to the sun |
outer planet | any planets outside the orbit of Mars |
comet | a small frozen mass of dust revolving around the sun |
asteroid | A rock, or Minor Planet orbiting the Sun. |
meteroid | any small object in space |
constellation | A grouping of stars which have been given names by ancient astronomers because of the way they look. |
galaxy | a group of stars |
universe | all of space |
milky way | our galaxy |
