| Term | Definition |
| Asexual Reproduction | One organism produces offspring that have the same exact DNA making them clones. |
| Offspring | a living organism's child or children. |
| DNA | The genetic material that is passed on to parents to their offspring. |
| Mitosis | A type of cellular division in which 1 cell divides itself into two new daughter cells that are clones to the original parent cell. |
| Binary Fission | When the parent organism splits itself into 2 new organisms with the same DNA. (asexual reproduction) |
| Budding | When the parent organism grows little buds that fall off and become offspring. They have the same DNA. (asexual reproduction) |
| Spores | A specialized cell that comes from a living organisms that floats off and grows into a new living organism with the exact same DNA. (asexual reproduction) |
| Vegetative Reproduction | Some plants can reproduce by using a part of themselves to create offspring that is genetically the same. (asexual reproduction) |
| Sexual Reproduction | Two parents contribute half the DNA to new offspring. Offspring is an unique individual, not a clone. |
| Clone | Offspring that has the same DNA as their parents. |
